Out on the rugged coastline at Drengeneset near Hardbakke lies a small cabin with big personality. Here, a busy family of four has created summer memories, but their dream was to make the cabin more functional – and ready for stormy winter evenings when the North Sea crashes against the cliffs outside.
The cabin showed signs of its exposed location and years without upgrades, but with the Eventyrlig Oppussing team on site, it was time for a transformation. The focus was on maximizing space, creating smart storage solutions, and giving the cabin a warm Scandinavian atmosphere suited for both summer and winter.
The boys’ paradise in the guest house
The property consists of a main cabin and a small guest house. The guest house was transformed into “the boys’ paradise” – a playful room for games, fun, and adventure. The walls were painted, the ceiling straightened, and beds were built on each side of the room with clever storage solutions. The style is bright, warm, and Scandinavian – ideal for both small and big moments.
Practical solutions with Cinderella Freedom
When a family wants to use their cabin year-round, practical solutions are key. The main cabin already had a Cinderella Freedom incineration toilet (propane powered), which was serviced during the filming. In addition, a new Cinderella Freedom was installed in the guest house. With toilets that work completely without water or sewage, and that are easy to use even in winter, the family now has flexibility and comfort – no matter the season.
